Our Story

Welcome to Backwood Acres Puppies! We are a family of four: Reuben and Deana Stutzman, our son Brian, and our daughter Leona. We live in a quiet country setting of 65 acres with timber and the Kaskaskia river running through our property.

At Backwood Acres Puppies, we have over 15 years of experience breeding and raising dogs... it is our passion! We would love to meet you at our home to discuss any questions you may have and to meet the puppies.

We believe that treating others as we want to be treated is central to living a life of integrity. We make it a policy to include our pets in this as well. They deserve to be treated with love and respect just like everyone else.

We work closely with and follow a vaccination and deworming program recommended by our licensed veterinarian. All our puppies have a two-year health guarantee and are health checked before leaving for their forever homes. We want your newest family addition being the happiest and most healthy puppy possible.

We warmly welcome you to visit us and our pets at our home. The only requirement to adopt one of our beloved puppies is that you promise to love and take care of them for the rest of their lives.
